new lazy oaf x dr martens boot

dr martens does it again. this is their second collaboration with lazy oaf to make the cutest grunge boot, so of course i had to pick up a pair. this time, their newest boot ($180) is less pricey than their previous jungle boot ($220). however, with international shipping fees, i ended up paying a grand total of $277 for the pair.

it's basically $100 more than what i last paid, but to my defense, i had to pay a $62 shipping fee when the DHL delivery guy got here. if you live in japan, be aware of this sneaky fee.

dont forget to sign up for discount codes on either dr martens, lazy oaf, or dollskill. i was able to purchase their last boot for only $175 due to dollskill's 30% off entire website deal going on at the time.

when i looked up the boot on launch date, i noticed that the dr marten's website was selling the new boot for around $335 usd (converted from GBP) to get the boot shipped to japan. in the end, i went on lazy oaf's website and paid $213 usd, plus $62 shipping. i guess i did save money in the end, but you'd be saving much more by ordering straight from the US or UK instead. however, the new heart-buckled boot is now sold out in both colors on the website. so lucky me.

i ordered the pair in uk size 3, which is a us size 5. with this being my sixth pair of dr martens i've owned, i knew to size down.

this is my second pair of the collaboration, so the packaging was the same as the last one. i left the other pair back home in vegas, so i figured i'd treat myself to this new pair since i've been saving up so much over the course of 2017 and havent had the chance to splurge very much.

voila! here they are. i ordered the black pair, of course, which features 3 heart-shaped buckles and a small heart accent at the back of the heel. this pair is most similar to their jadon boot in terms of platform size. it fits a little snug compared to the jungle boot, which is perfect for me, since i found that the jungle boot was a little too roomy whenever i wore them.

the only downside compared to their previous pair is that there is no zipper, and you have to manually adjust the 3 buckles instead. other than that, this is probably my favorite pair, next to my daria boot.

i now have this pair and my masha boot along with me in japan, while the others are back home in vegas. having this pair is weirdly helping me a feel a little more at home.
